Heartbreak

Heartbreak

A Poem by Sibusiso Kotela

I woke up smiling(at you my sweet).
Then I opened an eye,
Slowly, savouring your beautiful sigh,
Clutching desperately at your heat.

Then reality forced its way into my perception.
Opening my other eye felt like an ending,
But also a beginning to the mending
Of this pore opened by surreal deception.

Always I lose myself at night,
Living a life long ended and supposed to be forgotten.
A life of two teenagers besotted...
Only to later mourn the loss of this ethereal sight.

It seems I cannot forget you.
