On hearing of impending Fatherhood

First a scintilla of shock,
With a tinge of apprehension.
Then a tiny quivering of the spine,
Then... An onslaught of jubilation.

Then stops the clock,
Time's fluid motion induced with tension.
Then... Boom! Happines sublime!
Smiles, attacks of laughter! Animation!

And above all... Love.
A boon has been granted us from above.
