Misunderstood

Sitting here alone

Wishing to be understood

Not that anyone cares, not that anyone would.

People just don’t understand how lucky they are

I wish I had someone to worry about me,

It seems that’s asking for a lot nowadays,

My hope, my wish, seems so far.

I’m hoping that you care

But it just doesn’t seem like you do,

I don’t think you know how much I hurt,

I don’t think you’re aware.

I’m always making sure you’re alright

You do that sometimes, too.

But it just doesn’t seem like you

Can see that I’m all wrong in your line of sight.

I know I can be a b***h

I know I can be a handle

I know I take a jump at you

Every chance I can get.

But don’t you think there’s something wrong?

Can’t you see the anger deep inside that’s set?

You say you’re sorry

You didn’t mean it

But don’t you see what’s really there?

Can’t you see the sadness, the depression inside

At the bottom that just sits and sits?

So, maybe this is a cheesy rhyme

Maybe I’m just upset.

Or maybe, just maybe, I’m right

Oh, I’m not, you wanna bet?

Hello Kristen,

I think the best poetry is when we open up a small window into our lives and allow others to see exactly what we see, feel what we feel, taste what we taste. A great poet opens up a whole new world for people, allowing them to feel emotions they didn't know exist. Excellent work.

Regards,

Matthew

Get rid of the cheesy rhyme line. Nothing at all cheesy about it. A creative twist you've taken to the ritualistic rhymes most do (including me). Of course, I'm bias when it comes to this so maybe my opinion doesn't matter. I loved it. So relatable.

I think we all can feel misunderstood deep down... sometimes i think we have trouble understanding ourselves... very emotionally charged piece of writing.

I love this, everyone can't be totally understand,
everyone is different. However, as I think, I think I am not understand in anyway.
Love this!

Hey. I used to be on here alot when I was 15. Now, not so much. I'm 18 now and I'm not nearly as depressing as I used to be, but still depressing enough. Message me and feel free to read my old poems... more..
