The Last Act

The Last Act

A Poem by Scarlett Letter

In The Begginging Our Love Was True

Towards the End I Realized That I Loved You

Sadly Though Our Story Had To End

My Heart Almost Finished on the Mend

Fighting Back The Painful Tears

You Awakened My Wildest Fears

My Only One True Love

Went and Killed My Peaceful Dove

My Heart Went and Broke

In My Body The Blood Did Soak

One Last Kiss I Do Blow

But You Could Care Less, and I Know

You Never Did Love Me Back

You Played Me, Like A CD Track

How Could It End Like This

I Waited So Long For Our First and Maybe Final Kiss

Unfortunatly It Never Did Come

Arms Wrapped Around Me Tightening Some

Air Escapes My Lungs and Its Hard To Breathe

I Watch As You Turn Around And Slowly Leave

Its Like Some Horrible Movie, The Final Act To The Play

The Curtain Finally Closing and On My Knees I Beg You To Stay

You Pay No Attention as The Curtain Comes Crashing Down

And In This Final Moment You're Gone Without A Sound.

Very sad and captivating in the relatablility. Very many lines pop out at you:
"The Curtain Finally Closing and On My Knees I Beg You To Stay,"
"You Awakened My Wildest Fears,"
"In My Body The Blood Did Soak,"
I noticed that you were almost forcing yourself to rhyme it all; some were the perfect lines, others just sounded like they belonged in a story. The breaks were you put the commas, and the ajointing words (And, Like, But, ect) If it is easier to write in a story format, I would say do a draft in the story format, then go over it all, finding all of the unneeded details, make the lone line become shorter with lesser words needed, and then revise it till your heart is content. It is very hard for story tellers to have to break free of the flowing stories and to make them so short and sweet as such, but in a way, you accomplished a lot, most of the tigers can't shed their stripes, but you tried, and you earned a passing grade, you should be very proud of this piece. And keep trying! :)
