Hide & Seek

Hide & Seek

A Poem by VERONICA

I'll hide away my feelings and you can seek them out;
I'll put up some walls and please come tear them down.
I care so much; I think so much,
And this thinking makes me feel important and brave-
But when I open the doors to my brain,
And everything falls out.
When all the mess is spewn out on the floor,
And there's a naked me left inside the closet,
I'll feel so vunerable-
So humble and insecure.
It's then, only then when you've found me.

Good story, how unfortunate for the speaker though.

I really like the metaphor of hide and seek for hiding all of one's vulnerabilities, because everyone puts up a front (as little as we like to admit it). The ending was perfect, and the rest of the poem was pretty good, too. =)
