Weird

Weird

A Poem by Blue

His face spells obvious danger,

commanding all to run.

He's like a serial killer

who always keeps a gun.

The devil is no rival

in just the way he stands,

with cigarette between his lips

and cozy beers in hands.

Scary skulls adorn his shirt

with daring words of hate.

He listens to those hardcore songs,

proclaiming loss of faith.

She had always been repulsed

by guys not of her kind.

But something weird had happened--

He really changed her mind.

She's the girl who stays at home,

obsessed with classic books.

Intelligence redeems her from

the errors of her looks.

She likes to wear pastel clothes

and skirts below-the-knee.

What her silence can't reveal

she writes in poetry.

She likes to spend her hours

in church's silent halls.

And what she greatly wants is to

fulfill her saintly calls.

He had always been repulsed

by girls not of his kind.

But something weird had happened--

She really changed his mind.

Sometimes opposites attract. Nicely told.

I love this one!
You have captured the character's details well, so I can see him and her!
Wonderful how you picked the right details to reveal in your prose.

Yes indeed, love springs eternal in the strangest of places !!

A descriptive contrast between two extremes of personality, and how imaginatively clever to bring both together in a redeeming, positive style !

"Redeeming, positive style"... I like that! :) Thank you, Tom!
Why are you so awesome? Haha! You remind me of my cousin when she used to write. She was talking about a boy, but the boy was talking about a girl and in the end they were talking about each other. It was so awesome I couldn't write anything after reading it.

Your poem reminds me so much of that piece. It's so beautiful and fun to read and smart. :)
The way you wrote this piece, it's like a book if you know what I mean. There's a story, a plot, a beginning, an end and everything in between :)

You have a point. :) You are welcome.
Do we change our minds? Do others have this power to influence us to change our minds?
I think the answer is yes, but it is a qualified yes. We make little decisions each moment of our lives. When those choices start being made with a different vision of outlook on life and our surroundings, our perspective changes as our ability to visualize is modified by small degrees. I think we simply open our minds to new possibilities when we entertain considerations beyond our own perspective.
So, simply saying we had a change of heart of mind is easier than my long winded explanation. ha. :)

The power of love is here as well... Much food for thought.
