The Boy with Books

The Boy with Books

A Poem by Blue
"

him <3

"

The Boy with Books

The boy with books

And charming looks

Passed by the halls again

And there I stood

Just not as good

With silenced words and pen

He’s shy and smart

 With noble heart

I wish he’d said hello

But who was I

To catch his eye

So I just watched him go

. . . . . . . .

The Girl with Books

The girl with books

And charming looks

Stayed by the halls again

And there I passed

(But way too fast)

‘Cause there were other men

She’s shy and smart

With gifts of art

I wish she’d smiled at me

But who was I

To catch her eye

So I just let her be

Author's Note

Blue
My (secret) crush for seven years confessed that he has a crush on me (for seven years, too!) I asked him why he didn't say hi to me during our high school years and he said, "You're pretty and smart and way out of my league. Why would you talk to someone like me?"

This poem sums it all up. Now, he's wooing me to be his girlfriend. (Yikes!) But he's still on the ship and won't be back for three months.

P. S. The last picture is my drawing.

Reads like a childhood story...the playfulness in the lines and good to see this was based on a true story...I never did back down from asking a girl if she would go out with me...better to know...and not miss all that wasted time...by just staring...a slow start...7 years...there's a story behind that --- too...if you get a chance watch the movie with Marilyn Monroe...the 7 Year Itch...like the number 13 --- 7 represents good and bad...good to read you...

Wow!.....I'm speechless! This is too good for words! Everything about it is beyond description, and the fact that it's actually a true story just puts it over the top! Absolutely divine! Well done!

An adorable and unforgettable story :) it's like you have your own fairy tale coming true, huh? I enjoyed how you wrote this in two parts, from each persons perspective. Very well written and believable. Everyone deserves someone wonderful...

This is cute, Blue. Your simple revelation made me smile here upon remembering my teenage days.
I wish you all the best. Yes, give chance to know each other better. Study hard and reach your dreams. Keep on shining!

I like the two poems. Funny how people go by us daily and we never approach and create a friendship. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
I enjoyed he rhyme and meter of this poem as well as the common dilemma that it artfully expressed. The last line of your second verse would sound better if it read as : “With “muffled” words and pen".
