I Thought Like Fools Do in Grief

I Thought Like Fools Do in Grief

A Poem by Bluest Blue

It did not rain that fateful day
Your love was like the sun at noon
But without warning, all was dark
The sky turned starless, midnight soon.

I thought like fools do in grief:
"If day is short, then midnight's brief."

To bed I went with hopes of dawn
I lulled my pain, regrets to sleep
Forever passed and night stayed on
The sky's still starless, black, and deep.

I thought like fools do in grief:
"If love is short, then sorrow's brief."

This is excellent. So heartbreaking and true and so well put in such a few simple words. Well done indeed.

In faith, dear poet, your rhymes are gold!
Your imagery and flow are bold!
You have the will, the skill, the thrill–
A true magician with the quill!!

Well done!
