Why I Write

Why I Write

A Poem by Blue

Why I Write

I write

lest I forget

Read my diary and you'll know

There are pages of you

from when we first met

til the day you let me go

From the dawn you called me

Darling

--Again

Til this night of spilling

tears

I write to remember

then

Lest I forget our years.

I feel as this could have come from my own heart. Excellent.

Another brilliant gem! (If you don't mind, I would suggest removing the "again" in stanza 3 as there's no antecedent to justify it's placement, and it only seems like you put it there due to something that happened to you relevant to the story in the poem. But if that's the case, it's not clear in the poem what that something is. Yet quite frankly, it all moves with better ease if you take it out).

Outstanding!

There is beauty to be found in sadness. I discussed moments ago how the poems that express sadness are sometimes the most beautiful. Please note that I do find your poem heartbreakingly beautiful. I suppose that these sad poems make us "feel" the most. I can feel the sadness at the time your pen or other writing tool of your choice etched the words into memory. I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

I love the natural cadence of this piece. Every word has been carefully placed to convey what you want to say. Well-penned, Blue!

Oh gosh, you're the only one who noticed the cadence. I'm glad you did! Thank you so much, Clara.

You're very welcome. :)
In my moment of bitterness, i would rest my pen. I would not give him the gratification that i spent time writing/thinking abt. him. Bitterswet.

i feel such sweet sorrow in this poem Blue ... journals and diaries are precious gifts to give ourselves .. dark thoughts, deep secrets, and huge pain and loss can find a safe place on those pages .. well done says i .. bittersweet for sure!
