Void

Void

A Poem by Sam

You looked into the darkness
To see what you could find.
As you stepped into the shadows
It whispered to you lies.
You turned to run and leave,
But found that you where blind.
Ten years you spent there
Wishing to you could die.
I found you broke and beaten
From time that you had spent,
And its hard to mend a person
Who doesn't want to live.
Who's soul is now broken
By all the dings and dents.
Now I'm here to save you
From the shadows where you thrive,
But, I found you can't save someone
Whose really not alive.
For by the time I found you,
You'd already drowned in the night.
You had listened to it whispers,
You believed in what had said.
You dived into its blackness
And it leached from you your light.
Your body still is breathing
But by now your mind is dead.
Still, I thought that I could save you.
If I dragged you from the sea,
I screamed for you listen
But my voice was lost in air.
I stepped into the darkness,
A light for you to see,
But it began to freeze.
So I gave one last brilliant flare.
In hopes you would recall the days
Before your nightmare.

I really loved the imagery and the smooth flow. Sorry I can't respond to the punctuation, not my thing either. Nice work Sam!
