To Reach for the Moment, Now Gone

To Reach for the Moment, Now Gone

A Poem by Laura E. Dixon
"

The realization that one has missed their call in life; the chance now lost...

"

Breathing falls weary,

 To faint, fallen calls,

Reaching to hear them,

Alone he must go,

Fleeting moments found nearly,

Lost beneath the fallen snow,

Yet, wreckage claims the will to feel them,

Alone in shadows, to search alone,

Winding shores seeping in sorrow,

Break against the tides below,

Bleeding wreaths of sullen slumber,

Fails to find the moment's song.
