Make Up Is The Best Camoflage After All

Make Up Is The Best Camoflage After All

A Poem by Evangeline Allyson Monroe
"

This is like the exact opposite of my poem Porcelain and Plastic. :)

"
Primped and polished,
Adorned with ornaments of an upper class.
Personality built on sand,
A self esteem of glass.
This is not me,
But this is who I want to be!
To be skinny and slim,
Perfectly poised, perfectly prim.
I just want to fit in;
Is that such a sin?
I think not
After everyone forgot about me.
Left
Me
Alone,
I need them to clearly see
Who it is I can be:
Perfectly disastrous,
Confusingly concise,
Realistically pretend.

Now I must become my own worst enemy.

I think my favorite part was the contradictions at the end but I'm weird like that.
This poem really displays what so many people, especially the teenagers and even the younger kids, believe now. It's very well written and you did a good job.
