Testing the Waters

Testing the Waters

A Poem by BodilessSoul
"

Hesitation over diving into relationships

"

Take off my shoes-

I'm biting my lips...

Feel the embrace of grass on my toes-

I'm wiggling my hips...

Stare at the water that'll wash away the bruise-

I'm trying to come to grips...

Hum over the water's lure.  It already knows-

I'm getting over my confidence dips...

Shove a foot towards the surface.  I'll have to choose-

I'm leaving my fear on the floor in strips...

Sink the tips of my toes into the water, it's warmth flows-

I'm licking my lips...

I'm shimmying my hips...

I've come to grips...

I've gotten over the dips, the strips...

I throw myself into the welcoming water, ready to cruise.
