Sweet Memories

And when all is said and done, I shalt

Remember the haunting of these previous days,

And shalt never look back onto this empty vault

Of my dismembered organs onto unsanctified bays.

Somewhere out there, a dim light has glistened,

But I could not see it, because these weary eyes

Have been clouded by darkness that fastened

The shackles of deliverance in wicked guise,

And in this black box, all of the dismal memories

Have resided, awaiting to be recalled

By a single whisper; never to rest; never to cease.

But upon will, this darkness one day shalt be appalled.

Patience. Salvation has taken it’s due course.

Within my sweet memories, I find an amiable source.

Any long term memories are never erased from the human brain, but we have the choice of summoning the bright or dark ones, and our moods are affected upon such choices.

Great write! And you couldn't be any more correct with your author's note - we make the choices of what memories we relive. We also have a choice over our moods (at least in my opinion), it's something I've been working on the last few weeks.

That's awesome!
Tucked away into our subconscious to await resurfacing.... Sometimes, it is our choice to bring them back or not. But there is always a lesson to be learned and an option to move on/move ahead. The lessons in our life journeys are given so that we may remember and grow.

That is very true. Thank you for the insight :)
It seems my heart is always in a state of "rewind". Letting go has never been my strong suit, but my feelings give me the strength I need to get through...eventually.

Your expressions are deeply rooted, Shane...and speak volumes.

You are welcome...:).....
A very nice write Shane. We often let the dark thoughts of the past cloud our perception of where we are on this journey called life. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ledrew. I'm about to upload a new piece. I had you in mind.
This again is a terrific write, and your author's notes say it all,
so true, completely up to us to revisit the good or the bad we have
saved in our black box of memories. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
