My precious defective

My precious defective

A Poem by Shards

There's Ash on my lashes and
my trusts lined with dust,
this well oiled machine
is starting to rust

Mind, body, spirit
from birth
conditioned and controlled,
will we ever learn
to break free of this pre cast mould?

Sometimes reduced to beasts
only capable of violence,
we leave in our wake nothing but
before life after death silence

Obviously inevitable
painfully predictable
our human nature seems
unavoidably inescapable
