You

You

A Poem by Shay33

Heart is racing, hands wet,

And still no satisfaction.

It scorches you,

Internal chemical reaction.

Asphyxiate, the mist surrounds you,

All oxygen is lost.

It tortures you to see the line

You so blatantly crossed.

Poison running through your veins,

You're sprawled across the floor.

You bleed. You hurt. You regret.

You crave it more.

Glass is shattered, pieces scattered,

Photographs lie torn.

You're lonely. You're helpless.

You're forlorn.

Days are melting, feels like months,

You still lie on the ground.

But you cannot see, cannot speak,

Cannot hear a sound.

Was all that really worth it?

All the nights of getting high?

After all, I'm your little girl.

And daddy never said good-bye.

I like this poem. You're word choice and rhythm are really well done and the rhyming is really good. Great job! Keep it up!
