Highway of Love

Take my heart

But be gentle

It can't take pressure

Its very fragile

 

Consume my mind

But take great care

It's cracked and may shatter

Into a million pieces

 

Take over my body

But bear in mind

It's very sensative

To the slightest touch

 

Invade my life

But be forwarned

It's a warzone

You may be buried in rubble

 

I open myself to you

I'll give you free reign

But I am not liable

For injury due to mistep

 

I have put up warnings

"CAUTION Slippery when hurt"

"BEWARE of falling tears"

"Heart Contruction Zone"

 

It's your job

To heed the signs

And drive carefully

On this highway of love

If only some men I have known came with these warning signs. LOL. The new one comes with a much better warning sign: "Watch out. I'll be so crazy about you I'll make you think you've died and gone to heaven." :)

Really like this - a very true, honest, sensitive write - great wording and i like the way each first line is a permission to love someone in every way, followed by a warning of how they must navigate each path.

I really really liked this, my favourite part was the first stanza:

"Take my heart
But be gentle
It can't take pressure
Its very fragile."

I think many people can really relate to something like that coz everyone has suffered some sort of heartbreak and it leaves their heart fragile, and thats the sort of thing people feel when they first start with someone new.

Anyway, I really liked it =D

Oh man, I really digged reading this. Its like you are inside my head, right here and now. So many things I can relate to in this poem, and the style that its delivered, very simply and clear, just added to the clear message.

This is a very nice piece. I hope you didn't lose any of your writing in the literary genocide we just experieinced. Thankfully I still had the original clones of my work. I have sme reeditting to do as I didn't alwas update the file on my PC when I did edits to the Cafe version. Hopefully thats all you had to do. Some people will never see some of thir work again.

Last stanza is it supposed to be heed? As in heed my word? Instead of head?
Just asking. The rest looked grate to me.
