Dream-Bound

Dream-Bound

A Poem by Shelby

Dream-bound

Is my label

Starry-eyed,

Head in the clouds.

I've been them all

Perhaps I still am.

They tell me

"Get your head out of the clouds, damn it!

Put your feet on the ground!"

Oh my earth,

I do love you

But my head will not come down

Will not obey their orders.

It follows it's own silly whims

And lets the imagination take the reigns.

I am but along for the ride,

Watching the imagination destruction

And smiling dreamily.

Why should I worry?

Why should I care?

For my mind is on its own journey and does not stop

For my voice of reason.

I will not reign it in,

Keep it under control,

For that is when Doubt

And Worry

And their brother Fear

Enter in and sicken my mind.

No.

Dream-bound is my name

And that is where I remain.
