Alone and last

Alone and last

A Poem by

A wedding is a joyous time,
Let us celebrate our new bind.

When it comes time for the bouquet and garner throw,
It becomes painful for some,
for it is a reminder.

It is an ugly reminder,
a thought that hinders,
a lonely walk on the plains of life,
someone to walk with me is all that they plight.

It worse when you learn,
you are the only one to traverse alone,
I continue to walk on my own.

You are the odd half,
the lost half,
there is always first and last,
and I am last.
