Hearty Welcome for CCTV in Ocho Rios- Joseph John Issa

After years of anticipation, CCTV is here at last and the authorities are to be congratulated for what I believe will help curd some of the illegal activities in the country’s former cruise ship capital and return it to its former glory.

My hope now is that it doesn’t stop here but would be installed all over the town, particularly in the main shopping centers along Main Street, as well as street corners, transport centers and public spaces.

Of particular interest is the former area of James Avenue which many of us at the St. Ann Chamber of Commerce fought so hard to restore to a bright, fun ambience, after several business owners were encouraged to improve the look of their previously run down properties.

As result of the initiative, people from all walks of life can be seen in the James Avenue area, especially on Thursday nights when it takes on a life of its own, with parties in a fun-filled atmosphere, which CCTV would add value to and it keep safe.
