Wall of Mirrors

Constantly surrounded
Always made aware of the shortcomings
And the excess materials
And the effects of gravity

The mutilation will not be forgotten
The scars can be seen
When there is no barrier
To protect the truth

They are all oblivious
Could not care less
About what is happening to me
It's like they have created their own world

My world is full of hate
For those people who do not care
For those who do not see
And those who take no notice

The world will live on
For those who are not in mine
But mine will stop
And no one will notice

I can barely see my reflection
It's a mere shimmer in the glass
But a broken soul can be seen
Forever to be forgotten

They say that mirrors reflect the truth
Funny, they look in the mirrors as well
Yet they only see what they want
Mirrors can lie

My picture is forever torn
My reflection lost forever
My soul will be lost
And never to be found

Mirrors can be broken
My shadows come out
From their hiding place
Looking at this world

My shadow and soul reunite
To find solace
In their problems
That have been lost in the frosted glass

Mirrors are always powerful imagery. They are one of the most common things, part of our every day lives yet at the same time they're so much more. They can be terrifying. Comforting. Hurtful...You use this very well. Powerful emotion is clear throughout the poem.

I can relate to this. I understand where you're coming from. A very accessible poem. I'm sure everyone has felt like this before.

I very much get it now. thank you so much for taking the time to explain it to me. I think that your last stanza ties the whole thing together. I like the reference to the frosted glass. Sort of stepping from the haze. Yes?

They say that mirrors reflect the truth
Funny, they look in the mirrors as well
Yet they only see what they want
Mirrors can liemost amazing like these lines the most! It rebels for integrity, which I thought that mirrors can have that ability to lie!...lol

My picture is forever torn
My reflection lost forever
My soul will be lost
And never to be found---another fave lines a picture can be torn, but in a mirror that lies beneath your disoriented soul, you can see the picture which is actually torn down the reflection thing goes with it, adds up too well!!...i like how you ended up this line, it is as if youll commit suicide or the like(due to enormous strife), my soul will be lost foreverjust beautiful!!

And the last few lines are the most accurate conclusion, (well, for me)!! I like the way you wrote this, I think youre too inspired with mirrors, and I like the fact that you gave a little bit of simulation of the mirrors to your soulbroken nice, nice, nice!!!
