Time

I found a birthing

in your eyes

gestation of soul

a quenched smile

going on,

              mile

                     after

                            mile

mapped with your heart

for every inch, I will chart

till time,

             tears

                     us

                         apart

Mourning your death

longing your gaze

setting sail

to leave this haze

to not feel your breath

is a crime

for we are only separated

by time

soon, I'll reach heaven

and hold you in my arms,

forever

in time

This is a beautifully written poem. I found the opening so strong and it felt nice to read about such strong feelings and then the tragic turn took all of that away, replaced with sadness but also a spark of hope to meet again. Somewhere else where time doesn't matter. A beautiful poem.
