The Healing

The Healing

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Her body shook
with the vigor
of a tree
caught in a storm's gaze.

Their EYES met
once again
a CHARMING.

The ECSTASY
was to never be denied.

It was an Inferno
As Dante had predicted
Many years
before-
they were conceived.

A blue moon-
Love affair
Wherein lies the tattle-the TALE-
the rattlesnake
bite-
Their desire.

He possessed her now-
the antidote
was simple
a few words
BOUND them
forever-
I do, again.

Their EYES met
once again
a CHARMING......this is a charming stanza itself: I found right away what i am used to. solid writing, palpable tension and this is proceeding throughout the poem to surprise ending. "A blue moon-
Love affair
Wherein lies the tattle-the TALE-
the rattlesnake
bite-
Their desire." -------------word after word this is a revelation, filled with the requisite sense of momentum, in the last stanza I expected this twist what a perfect poem with this attitude demands....it is flat-out superb, and was filled with lines that will sing in my head for a longer time to come...great darling. loved it!

the syntax of stanza 2 seems a little odd. i think perhaps a few words may be missing, as the final line doesnt really fit.

great images here. i can see the desert dust in the dryness you create here.
