Justice

Justice

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Today, the snow fell

round about in heaps

blanketing the field

eclipsing the trees.

A lovely day

to stay inside

watch the miracle subside

outside the office window

where now all I see

is a shroud of white

a brilliant scene

set upon the landscape.

Me, inside enwrapped

in old bathrobe

silently scrawling about

the masterpiece

that has fallen from the sky

unable to unearth the words

to do it justice.

Snow is such a miracle of nature! It is amazing how clean and peaceful the world looks with a fresh whitewash of snow. You may not have done snow justice with your words, but how can you? Some things are impossible to capture with words. I think that you came about as close as possible.

Great write!

A lovely piece, especially as I have just been writing by the light from my window to a snow covered yard. I like your language, essential without being fragments.
