Yet It Would Never Do

Yet It Would Never Do

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

I wanted to be near you once

Instead I felt the absence

of your touch

The ache of wanting you

Yet it would never do-

As you were taken

I forsaken

By the other one

who found you first

Melded your heart to hers-

I can only hope she loves you

as I would have

unconditionally

forever and a day

could not sway

those feelings I harbored for you

Yet it would never do.

I'm surprised there are no comments here. I really like the style of writing that flows from your heart. A lot of emotion here. I'm a man and I love my wife dearly but I also love the beauty of sensuality and the gracefulnesses of all woman. Something we don't see much anymore today.

Before we married thirty years ago. This poem of yours brings back emotions and feelings of the ones I looked upon as friendships wanting to take it to the next level of relationships but they were already taken.

Yes the yearning of the heart.

Nice write!

Very nicely written! The process of letting go can be difficult. Wishing the best for someone even after they have moved on is when you know you really care for them. love that last line..."Yet it would never do". Beautiful!
