Believe

Believe

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

What does your

spirit say to me

I ponder

as we banter about

yet I wonder

what it is beneath

that stare

that wanders there-

begging to be freed

silenced all your life

something that not

even you believe in

wholely-

yet I can see it

animate you

dance within your eyes

when you speak

hear it in the soft

whispers that you keep

while you sleep.

What does your

spirit say to me?

It says believe

in yourself,

in me,

in humanity

as we walk a

new path

sometimes arm in arm

sometimes far apart

yet always

your spirit

says 'Believe'

in your children

and mine

their smiles we find

divine-

Believe.

SO GORGEOUS! I love this. That's the romantic in all of us speaking. So true and so very touching. Your internal and end rhymes kept the flow so intoxicating. Very good imagery, too. Just a great write!

I came to read another by you, but I'm glad this was featured. It spoke so deeply to me. To believe despite the voices of the world, and to have someone who lifts you to believe deeply. Divine...

I'm not quite a big fan of poetry, especially of contemporary writings, but yours put together with The Decemberists blew me away. All I have to say is thank you for this brilliant piece of work.

I say Amen my friend and a great big hallalula for such a wonderfully up lifting write.

as we walk a
new path
sometimes arm in arm
sometimes far apart

faith and love have no boundaries, so well put.

Hi S-,

This one is spot on perfect in my opinion. It comes close to being a religious experience. Belief for me is core to my being. I really like all that you write but this one is tops!
