Shrouded Memory

A Poem by SilentDream

if then was the last time to kiss you
will my heart skip a beat with each breeze
feel the whispering wind's wanton tease
will I stumble and then, surely, fall
into familiar arms...
embracing you,
convinced that this
remembrance is all
I have... And the last time I saw you
I neglected to dwell on your gaze.
so the years pass by slowly, as days,
and my longing is clear to all
who care to see
the effect of you
and the edge from
which I
(still)
might fall
into shrouded memories of you
and phantom touches that won't fade away
disarming me more than I could ever say
when love does no good to recall
