What Race

What Race

A Poem by Silver Higdon

Black, White, Red, yellow, Brown, who are we?
How do you define a man, by the color of his skin, or the wealth of thier land.
When I bleed do I not bleed red, when I cry do I not cry tears, when I hurt do I not scream out in pain.
Are we not all one in the same, are we not all put on this earth with same hopes and dreams.
Are we not all mothers and daughters, fathers and sons.
Judge me not for the color of my skin, but for I am, what I say and what I do.
Define me by my choices in life and the steps I make, define me for how I treat you in this life.
We are all one in the same, one life, one heart, we are united.
Black, White, Red, Yellow, Brown, I'd rather be color blind with an open mind.
