Lost soul

Lost soul

A Poem by Silver Higdon

The night creeps in, like fog over water. The air so crisp and clean. Theres a bitterness in the wind, something's coming.
The wind so cold it pierces the very soul. Your bones cracking and crunching like ice under foot.
You fall to your knees and crawl on the ground feeling your way just trying to find a soft spot to lay your head for the night.
As you lay there shivering you fall asleep. You feel yourself leave your body.
You see yourself laying there as of all your life has been pulled from you.
Just one more round, just one more fix, just one more you chant. No life, no love loss.
You where looked at as nothing there for you are nothing, just another lost soul, unmissed, inloved, unwanted. Another user the world has rid it's self of just a worthless excuse of a human life.
Just a lost soul.

Lost indeed but found in need. "Your bones cracking and crunching like ice under foot." I can't stop reading these lines. Great piece.
