When loves not enough

It was me who loved with every breathe of my soul

who gave every single ounce of energy to you

Me who tried when trying was so hard

It was me that cried when you said you’d found a new love

We tried to make it work but it wasn’t the same

I’m Struggling to hold you dear
Struggling to maintain the life we were meant to live.

I’m struggling to see things clear even in that year when spirits were high with seasons cheer

I pushed you away and wouldn’t let you close

I couldn’t forgive so made us row up until now

The decision that love was not enough was so tough and said I’d go for the sake of your very own heart

love is s**t.......it always ends in pain and hurt for someone ......the best you can hope for is to fall in love deeply and wildly and then die first and except the other person is gonna hurt like hell instead of you......anyway...like i say

someones gotta die an someones gotta hurt or someones gotta leave ...and still someones gotta hurt......

or be like me...have no love and don't love.....just hurt always instead

and still die.

This was a really good read that I was not expecting. I liked how well you portrayed all of the emotions and were able to tell such an emotional story in so few words. The imagery you created from carefully selected words was honestly, so good. I really enjoyed reading this, though I will have to agree with a comment below in that - this poem will look even better if you took out the "you's" and the "to you's" as then it flows so much better to me (though this is just a suggestion). Really enjoyed reading this, this is a very good, well written poem that is laid out perfectly. Look forward to reading more of your works!

You expressed a whirlwind of emotions here and enjoyed it very much. Sometimes as people we lack the foresight to make sound decisions because of the internal rope we have emotionally. I admit at some points in my life I made some irrational decisions based on my love for someone out of selfishness. Yet, letting go can be the best for both people sometimes. Keep up your thought-provoking work. take care :)

striking need for true forgiveness in this poem ...love hurts in so many different ways eh!? i had a lover once that told me she would never stay "forever" ..i didn't care :{ i struck the final blow myself and said commit ...or git ;) so after about 5 yrs of a passionate and lopsided relationship ,, it ended to my own crash and burn .. many years since ....we are still friends ..long distance friends .. some loves just never die i guess :) in this line "who gave you every single ounce of energy to you " there is a bit of redundancy .. perhaps just leave out the "....you..." or the "....to you" :)
