Temptation salvation

Temptation salvation

A Poem by Simba
"

Tempting...the thought of taking a pill and nerver waking up... Saved by god's almighty grace

"
Sliced rotten flesh corrodes my bones
I have no place to call home
This emptyness feels so alone
Temptation lerking every step

So...
The thought of never waking up again
That's the temptation
One
Two
Three
Put it all into motion
Just like that on a count of three
Hanging from the dead oak tree

Rotten branches ripen before me
as I fall to my knees
Saved by God's almighty face
Echo's by his dear sweet grace

Since there are quite a few poems posted here about depression & suicide, sometimes old people like me get tired of doom & gloom, especially if that's all a person writes (I don't know this about you yet). So, what makes for an interesting suicide poem is when you tell a realistic story with honest details, as you've done here. You've made this scene come alive with fresh vibrant descriptions, instead of going into a sad mind dump. I've been depressed half my life & it's not easy to resist the urge to write only black bleak stuff. That's why I'm trying to show you the difference, how your poem here is a work of art, not just a dreary message of suicide. I love how you end on a positive note, too. Sometimes we go thru this cycle many times & the grace saves us each time (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
