Ball of Light

Ball of Light

A Poem by SimplyOlivia

Ball of Light

Watch the flames flicker

See how they dance

The flames lick at the wick

And cause the wax to drip

Look at how it all moves

In one unending hymn

Pay attention to the perfect ball of light

Grasp its glow

Feel its warmth

Bask in the content it brings

Be careful now as the flame fades

It goes out.

Suspended in time,

It seems as though

It lasts a lifetime.

But it’s gone in an instant

Don’t fret though

For watch how the smoke curls

Watch as the tendrils

Float Heavenward

And join that beautiful,

Perfect

Ball of Light.

After I finished reading your poem, I had a very peaceful feeling. Overall, the pieces sort of reads like a guided meditation about finding the light within, especially the last three lines.

One of my favorite things about this piece is all of the images concurring light. I also liked how you described the warmth of the light. Well done with this piece.
