I Forgot To

Today I lie in silence

for she has turned and walked away

for good this time, I'm certain of it

I wanted to stop her, tell her I love her, tell her not to

tell her that it's she who has stole my heart

But I forgot to...

I forgot because for a moment in time

my heart had stopped suddenly

my voice as silent as a dreary darkened night

my breath no longer could be taken

my whole world now shattered, torn and shaken

But I forgot to...

I forgot because I realized that I had to let her go

although I so badly needed her and I still loved her

but it was time that I put my own needs above her

how I have now paid the ultimate of costs

But I forgot to... and my conscience told me not to

For tomorrow I shall remember

all in her that I have lost.
