Frosted Leaves

Frosted Leaves

A Poem by softiesongbird
"

A sort of vision of blood dripping off of frosted leaves appeared as I was falling asleep, as did sudden inspiration.

"

Blood drips off frosted leaves

The beauty of it is terrible

It thaws the plants, still warm

The contrast between dark red

And stark white -

It’s startling

More startling than the revelation

That this is my blood

Pouring out from within

Oddly, there is no physicality

I realize this - and all vanishes

Instead, darkness envelopes
