Metal and Scars

Metal and Scars

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

A little poem about pain and how you have to just tough it out in the end anyway.

"

Dreaming, with that sunlight beaming

Eyes wide tears streaming I hear screaming

Is it just me? Am I afraid to be a real man, know who I am and accept it?

Find my flaw and correct it, hide my sorrow forget it?

Am I supposed to be calm and collected to make you see me? Believe me?

Relieve me of all my grieving’s? But could you be me? Forgotten in chains, brains rotten in pain, metal’s the main source of my intelligence

Think someone sown back together can forget about scars? He can. I have so many I no longer know who I am

Spread my blood like jam and lather your veins in my metal rain

And then give me the blame to chew on because I’m the one gone wrong

Long ago I was human too

The sky was blue, no rain, solace, no pain, time changed, lost everything, even my heart

Know I laugh with the b******s who broke me, because it’s a funny joke see? You think a broken man can’t stand?

I may not know the difference between friend and foe but I won’t fall to the ones who stole my freedom

Until I can see them again I play this game until the end and defend the truth with my body, my metal, and my scars got me this far

The burden is large, but I’ve carried larger, happiness is far off, but I can walk farther

You can talk s**t about us, but I won’t be listening

The truth is glistening, crying, an eye never drying, all-seeing, and you're being a little b***h so keep dreaming of blue skies

Because even the best of men can only dream that things will get better

So you can suck my rainy weather

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review, because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.
