Dark Abyss

Dark Abyss

A Poem by R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
"

This poem's a little strange, but I hope you'll enjoy it! When you stare into the abyss, it stares back.

"

Blazing across the vibrant stars, silent, breaking through life’s iron bars

Beating through the cloudy skies, flying by your rowdy lies

Smashing past your every move, never faltering, never lose

Forgotten are the times when there were those that I have had to overthrow

In the empty darkness that choose my soul, an empty promise, that’s how it goes

Roses fragrant, now wilting stagnant, building fragments, now a vagrant

Truly spent, duly sent, time to repent, where the scent of greener grass under this world of broken glass clashes as crumbling ash, as my body slowly begins to crash, and my mind flashbacks to the past

I remember then, a time that when I had to bend, to daftly defend the ones I thought to call my friends

Rending pieces of my honest mind, tending weakness, fondest crime

Left behind to find the breadcrumbs

Living dead to unwind my unkempt lead lunges

Weighing me down, drowning now, heart pounding how, frightened wow, well endowed with hate I’m fateless

Weightless, hatred, baited in the hot water, not sister, not mother, not father!

Why do the b******s even bother, just another rotter slaughtered, clotterised, so despised inside their eyes, fast to claim the perished prize

Time to die, say it was suicide, confided the law cannot define signed notes

Cannot sing those words, I’d rather choke

Forgotten by my folk, I’ll sit here in the smoke, burning alive I finally spoke

Cracked the egg, splattered the yoke

Broke through the birdcage in all my rage

When I finally came to age

Sage to bridge the gap between the meaning, the truth they lacked

Cannot ever have it back, the life I lived, but never falter, never slack, keep on walking, splintered back

I broke through those iron bars, took my burden, came this far

So if you want to see the stars, use your burden, use your scars

Burn your purpose into your eyes

Become blinded by the worthless lies but see the truth and love inside

Defy the world, and a place you’ll find in empty skies, realizing death, your final demise

Find the empty bliss I know, I’ll show you in the cold kiss of death the dark abyss, the story's end

My only friend, vaguely missed, please come back to me, my only wish

Author's Note

R.J Calzonetti (SinisterPotatoe)
I very seldom reply to reviews, but I promise I read EVERY single one. I look forward to my next review because it helps me learn. Even if it's just one word, I promise, I will be ecstatic to have the chance to hear what you have to say. Whenever you write something about my poems, or the themes of my poems, or criticize me it is not in vain. I will listen, learn and be thankful.
