Missing

this about a girl who loses her true love and the pain begins to eat away at her

You are not here with me. I cannot see you. The empty

feeling returns and overwhelms me. The last time it left I

thought it would be for good. But the emptiness is like the air

I breathe. I long for you to be by my side again. For I miss the

feeling of your strong arms wrapped around me and your

sweet voice as you whisper in my ear. When I don't see your

smile or feel your touch against my skin a wave of sadness

rushes over me. The waves grab me and pull me under

until I am surrounded by the sadness. When you left you took

a part of me with you. Now I hope to drown in my own tears,

so that I may be with you once again.

... i'm moved to tears ... as i identify with this write completely ... i'd written a verse once ... that ended with ... "what has remained are my remains" ... the simplicity of the narrative is striking ... the profundity is overwhelming ... the image of the waves is sheer skill and brilliance ... but it's really the last line that lingers and lingers and lingers ... "now i hope to drown in my own tears, so that i may be with you once again" ... it is as much about submission as it is about hope ... and respect for true love ... a 100 for doing justice to the title ... with such fluency and sensitivity ... a deeply enriching write ...
