A Poem by Seeker

to remember and to move forward

Sometimes it’s no good reminiscing.

But just as the tide to the pull of the moon

I cannot help but remember

The nooks and crannies,

The twists and turns

of fate that led me here.

Here, where I feel so privileged, so honored

By the gift I’ve been given,

The responsibility that comes with it,

The urgency to make something of it

Like the molding of the clay before is dries.

The sadness hits me as I remember.

I lie here, overwhelmed by the power of distance and change.

The ambiguous seas of life shift into unfamiliar weather;

I can only hope to be doing the right thing.

Author's Note

I wrote this at the beginning of the school year at a new school. It's actually a sort of diary entry that I happened upon recently; my thoughts as I remembered my years at my previous school and what was to come now that I've finished.

Tell me what you think. :)

This is a beautiful write. So poetic, yet free flowing and unbound by the laws of rhythm. I like reading from another person's soul. It's refreshing.

I myself think back to my childhood, or really anytime, and look
how far I have gotten, sometimes wondering where I am going.
This is a nice poem, and explains all that.
