Our life ship has morphed
Into two -
Battered by perfect storms.
Silently, individually,
We sink beneath each wave
Of choking distance.
I miss you,
And I know you miss me,
But when we talk,
We act like pirate ships -
Looting and plundering
Mutual vulnerabilities.
Abandon your ship.
Would you board ours again?
I promise to hide my swords for a week,
So that possibly, we may hear the bleep
Of our morse code of love,
Transcending the tumultuous waves.
Your hand still fits mine like a glove,
Like that day we kissed where X marked the spot -
Can we tie, again, our true lover's knot?

Whew!! What a write!! I can feel the tumultuous sea raging inside of these sailor's hearts and soul. I guess it does feel sometimes that the most ferocious nemesis is your own lover that misses you maybe more than you can ever think or imagine. So, the distance is needed to heal and conceal, to find more strength to go on with just a mental impression of hands being held, and lips touched. Loved it dear SV :)
