Finding peace through pain ~ senryu trio

Finding peace through pain ~ senryu trio

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Anger took over -
Shaking my fist at heaven:
These cards are not fair.

This is not my fault
Why would God let me suffer?
Stop the bus, I’m out.

Not my will, but yours
Heaven’s rule trumps hell’s fury
Give me peace, I pray.

This is a great collection of senryu poems that work together to show the progression from cussing out God (as many do in tough times) and then finally surrendering to whatever lessons this situation may bring. I rarely see this much dynamic storytelling done effectively thru such a limited short-poem format! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

May we learn from Lot how important it is to have God at the center of our lives and to constantly seek His wisdom and guidance regarding our lives and the lives of our family. Your poignant 'trio' grouping helps to understand this statement - ending with a prayer! Nicely written - makes the reader stop and think! :-)
