Laniakea

Laniakea

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Oh Laniakea
mother of all mothers
this gray-scale speck of dust
today ponders
your glorious super-cluster
Your motion
of cosmic oceans
makes my blood flow
anti-clockwise
your cosmic expansion
tickles my funny bones
until the humor is gone
and all that's left
is unadulterated awe.

Come to me,
my immeasurable heaven.
Rescue me
from this blue and green hell
Give me the morning shift
and I promise
that I'll be
a good star.

Author's Note

SleeplessVolcano
Laniakea is a supercluster of galaxies, and the Milky Way is a speck at the end of a thousand tunnels. This gives us a bit of perspective on anything of any size :)

That's something new... I was not aware of Laniakea.....:) thank you for teaching that ....
And the poem reflects you...in so many ways ..
The image reminded me of the movie...avatar...the tree in that... and the tail with nerve endings....:)
Beautifully done....

Oh, I forgot - Laniakea means "Immeasurable heaven" in Hawaiian. :)
