Please Stay

Please Stay

A Poem by Slithering Angel

/Please Stay/

Promise you'll never leave
When it rains, when it storms
You'll be here, I can find you
Promise you'll stay
The clouds will part
We won't fall apart
Promise, promise I can find you
No matter what I say
No matter what you say
Promise you'll shine in the dark
At the end of the day
Nothing will get in the way
Promise you'll stay, you'll be here

But you're not, where'd you go?
I can't find you
The dark has come, snow fall, lightning strike
Please go away, I can't see you
But I feel you, you're still there, like gum in my hair
You won't go away

You're like this feeling, I've always had
It's been in my head always
Like I'm not real, I can't feel, I want to go away
Far away, from me, out of my head
I can't even get out of bed
It hurts too much
But not with you
Gone at your touch
With you I belong, I might can go on
But you've gone away, fade away
Can I go away, begin to decay?

Please stay away, it's not safe
Around me, with me
The dark is still here, it's all I can hear
Red seeps through, much like you
Blood flows, it's going away
Like you went away
Anger overwhelms, tears melt away, I feel only hate
I can't feel you

Say that you'll stay, you made me this way
It's all your fault, but I'm to blame
I want to feel you, believe you
Be with you
I need to go, fade, betray
Myself
The dark speaks, it breaths, it wants me
Don't you want me?

The snow crunch, the rain fall
Like I fell, my bones crunched
Promise you'll never leave
If you leave, please leave
I'll die, turn black inside, fade away
We'll be done with this pain and all I can say
Please stay

I absolutely love the weather references. They are used in a unique and creative way that makes them interesting. Refreshing.
Off-subject, my best friend is very gay, so I feel as though I can be a very easy person to talk to about just about anything, especially considering that I, myself, am bi-sexual.

It's almost funny the way shadows can show things at first you never want to go away, but then force you to see things you wish would disappear.

It's very true; shadows are sometimes equal parts best friend and worse enemy.
