To Heal Him

To Heal Him

A Poem by CM-Stars
"

A poem inspired by the music of Nick Drake.

"
With closed eyes,
His voice casts an enchantment,
Which envelops me.
His music is so soft,
Wispy and sweet.
His words speak of
unrequited love,
A sadness that reaches out.
His fragile, melancholy spirit
Makes my body ache
To heal him,
To be the shore
His ocean finds.
Our time together
Is shortlived as
The song finishes
Ending the spell,
Breaking us back in two.

You really know how to cap off a poem with a nice kicker, and that takes skill, my fiend (for the ending is very important in poetry). Well done!

A poignant and blissful poetic gem you've created here. A loving embrace for the heartfelt words of a significant other. Great work Charlotte. A sensual and sentimental read. :)

Thank you! I'm happy you liked it. :)
Charming! Music speaks to us so much more than just with words, there is genuine emotion in instruments, the melody, and even in someones voice. I identified with this so much. Such a lovely poem.
