Meaning of Art

Meaning of Art

A Poem by Andromeda
"

...i like modern art....NEW

"

Sometimes she feels that she is trapped in a world of

Realism:

Painting of drab gold and

Blues that seem afraid to cry.

And she is trapped behind a

Much-too-large frame of silver:

Overpowering.

She would try to escape,

But she knows the

                        Impossibility—

Has seen the painted arms that lock her in—

Knows them by name.

And, yet!

All she wants is to live

At least for a little while

            In one of those

            Super-modern paintings—

            You know the kind:

            Big red dot and

            Bright white backgrounds

            And stripes of vibrancy

That serve no purpose other than to

            Draw out questions of

            The meaning of Art.

I am a lover of abstract art as well. This is fantastic. Again, the reader feels as though they are inside the head of the character inside the write.

Life imitates art. Or is it the other way around? Love the visual here. Wish I could do that as well sometimes.

i liked this. there is a sense of chaos and uncertainty which gives the execution a lot more prominenece and ironically, maybe some answers. this is a bright origional concept, and i liked it.
