Nevermore Dawn

Nevermore Dawn

A Poem by Andromeda
"

inspired by the song "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. AKA really awesome wierd, creepy song leads to really wierd poem.

"

Alice in Wonderland

Knocking at your door,

And this is the dawn—

This is what comes before,

When nevermore the world screams:

Nevermore, rivers running sore,

And kingdoms falling like a shattered pawn

And this is the dawn—

Alice in Wonderland

Knocking at your door,

Close the shutters,

Close your eyes,

And hide your head,

And listen to the words

That were said—

That were spoken—

That were whispered in blood red,

And this is when the world screams

Nevermore,

This is when the plea comes

Knocking at your door,

And when the shadow

Begins to feast

On the shore,

And the mountains

Shatter and quake,

And the foresight in your bones is sore.

See it coming now;

This is what comes before:

A warning of Alice in Wonderland

Knocking at your door:

Still the bishop

To save the pawn,

And answer the

Nevermore Dawn

Knocking at your door.

Great rhythm and rhyme, had a hint of Poe woven throughout the piece... Has a song like quality, so I guess the gist of it is lost to me, and left it to that, poetry of song...

Nice flow of words and story. I like the use of fairy tale and nevermore. You create a interesting situation and tale. Thank you for the excellent poem.

This creates such a visual and mentally moving scene, taking us on a trip to Wonderland (which I love, btw!). Thank you for this richly deep and dark Poe-esque journey!

through a wonderland of sorts, Nice imagery, and dictation.

"And the foresight in your bones is sore." ~ This might be one of most imaginative lines I've ever read. I adored this piece! I too was inspired by this song, or more appropriately, uninspired by a co-worker named Alice. Check it out if you will (go ask).
