Forgiveness and I was saved

Well I didn't have Forgiveness 

In my soul

Everyone that crossed me I called them a fool

For that's how my mind worked

I had a harden heart

No one got close

and that did smart

It was rotten to the core

My soul was blacken

My pure white robe was soiled

I was full of dirty deeds

My friend turned on me

at every corner of every street

I felt I struck a deal with the devil

he was at me knees

I was all but chocked up

Then I seen the Light of Christ

It entered my heart 

and gave me trust

It made me forget about my

Unforgiving lust

It sealed the Deal

Between me and Christ

He became my leading light

He filled my heart with love that night

he came into my life

I realized what was wrong from what was right

The deal was struck between me and Christ

Forgiveness and I was saved that day

I let Jesus into my heart and soul

My mind was set free from sin and death

By the savior's hands on my breast

I knew a home in heaven was better

than any thing the devil could of offered

With Christ I am saved and set free

and I am set for life everlasting

Through the power of my Lord

Jesus Christ I will praise him

TIll I meet him

At his judgement seat.

The message here is very inspiring. My suggestion would be to rethink the outline of your piece. When spacing lines into stanzas that complete a previous stanza it distracts from the flow. There were also a few tense errors throughout the piece. Thank you for sharing.

It is to me unfortunate that anything "Christian" here receives less eye time than something with the pink bar. there are a lot of us here who are believers - and this believer struggles - not with salvation but just living in her skin. Poetry like this makes the struggle a little easier. It gives me hope.

Without Jesus I do not see how people can walk through this life. I see so many children at church who's family are destroyed by drugs or one or both parents are in prison. Who suffers the most for our sins but ourselves and our children. Happy to see someone brave enough to give God the glory He deserves. Valentine
