The Unknown and the Writer (TEASER)

A Story by Adam M. Snow
"

The idea is that this man, a writer is dying of old age and something happened where he mysteriously ends up in an unknown world where he's a young man again. The theme is late 1800s.

Author's Note

Adam M. Snow
I'm throwing away the old idea I had, and I'm going with a whole different and hauntingly route. This is what I got so far. This is a short story. The idea is that this man, a writer is dying of old age and something happened where he mysteriously ends up in an unknown world where he's a young man again. The theme is late 1800s.

So far you've attracted my attention. Be sure to inform me when the rest of this science fiction saga is ready. I have often wondered what I'd do if I had the chance to start my life over again whereby I would go back in time into my six year old body knowing everything that I know now, all that knowledge about the future. I would know to invest all of my money into Microsoft. It’s stories such as this that end up as screen plays for block buster billion dollar movies. I was inspired by your story to write the following which you may keep as your own:

As a midnight thunderstorm raged outside my window, I sat in my study alone staring at blank sheets of paper flickering under candlelight all of which were scattered where I tossed them in frustration.

( “As I pondered weak and weary, I heard a constant tapping, tapping at my chamber door” … We never do get out from under the shadow of Poe now do we?)

A very strong opening of the story. I wanted to know more. I like the detailed description and the conversation. The story had great possibilities. Thank you for sharing your amazing work.
