Chapter 1

“Unrecognizable sounds, I've never heard before. Weird humming, could that be a car of some sort? A lot of banging; the people sound aggressive, I don't recognize the language. Where am I?” Slowly I open my eyes, my head's throbbing. As I finally came to, panic floods my mind. When I woke, I found myself in an alley, in what appears to be a city on a foreign world. As I look around, the buildings, the streets; all had a cyber post-apocalyptic feels to it. Everything seems so hi-tech, even for my taste, but yet everything seem so rundown. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore and this sure as hell ain't Oz. Where exactly am I? Swiftly I ran and I ran with great haste. Out of the alley, I ran for help. I ran to a woman standing next to a kiosk, she had dark red skin and solid yellow eyes, but her words were jumbled to me. I even tried talking to a hog looking man,

“Where am I?” I asked him. His response I could not make out. Just like that woman, his words were jumbled as well. I don't understand a word they're saying and who knows if they even understand mine. Frantically, I went running down the streets in hopes of finding a savior. The streets are crowded yet still I ran, bumping into people along the way. In my mind I'm thinking, “There has got to be another human around. There just gotta be!”

Exhausted, I found myself still alone in an old deserted rundown alley, tired and hungry and still no savior. It's late at night and finally I passed out. I don't know if it was do to exhaustion or hunger, perhaps both. Halfway through the night, a drifter startled me away by gently kicking my legs. As I came to and my eyes adjusted, the drifter standing before me appears to have the body of a female, yet cloaked with a hood and a mask. I can even see peaking through the back of her cloak, a reptilian tail.

“Who is this drifter to wake me in the mid of night?” I thought to myself.

First off, great idea. There are a lot of ways you can go with this. I feel his confusion as the story starts. He is maybe a little calmer than I would expect so I assume he will be a strong character going forward. One ask would be more detail around what he sees, smells, and hears. I want to draw a more complete picture in my head of what this world looks like.

I am looking forward to more.
