Voodoo's Blight

Voodoo's Blight

A Poem by T.A.Rogers
"

Voodoo's Blight

"

Cadaverous rotting flesh,

Fingers intertwined upon my neck.

Blackness is upon my eyes

From this horrible screaming wretch.

This my simple magic bears:

The rotting stench of deathly pain.

Voodoo; black magic in my soul

That courses through my veins.

Tearing from me fleshly tributes

That may prolong a hellish existence.

Flashing fire in cold black eyes.

Fear instilled into me in an instant.

Knife, thus I bear,

I beseech thee, take away

The soul of the wretch my magic bears.

I pray you shall not stray.

because of its darkness and subject matter, this was a bit difficult to relate to. though the construction and writing of it seems to work on some level.
