Don't Try and Change Me

Why isn't ex-gay therapy illegal? FOR THOSE WHO THINK GAY PEOPLE SHOULD BE IN THERAPY!

It may say I am an abomination, a sin, a sign that I am going to hell.
But that doesn't give you permission to change who I love.

 That word though, abomination,

  Makes you think that I wasn't meant to be this way.
 But who are you to decide who I am?
 You are not me,now are you?
So how do you know?
 Huh?

 Don't try and Change Me

 Is what I am saying to you.

You may believe that it's wrong for a guy like me to love a man,
To marry a man.
 Because it ruins the meaning of Marriage.
 
Well, the word "Marriage" has two meanings.

One is yours,
That it's based on a man and woman.

The second one is freedoms,
That love holds no boundaries,
That if I want to get married because I am in love,
Then freedom shall let me do so.

So when you deny me my rights to marry,
you are taking away my freedom.
Who are you to do that?
 
And When you try and Change me,
 When you say I need "God" to lead me on the right path,
 Who are you to say I am on the wrong path?

YOU ARE NOT ME!
So how do you know if I am on the right path?

 Now you listen to me,
I have no problem if you think I am wrong, that I am a sin,
 all I ask for is that you RESPECT me
 That you treat me like any other person, I am no different then you, I am still human.

In other words Don't Try and Change Me.

In the 20's , 40's, and 60's, a man with black skin would have been turned away,

discriminated against, only because he was different.

 Then Martin Luther King Jr. came along, and fought for their rights.
Just like how I am fighting for mine.

 White people didn't try to change the black people,
they didn't try to paint them white, So why should you change me?

 
Just because I am GAY, it doesn't give you permission to insult me,
To hassle me, to say that I am worthless.

So Don't try and change me.

I am, who I am,
and there is nothing you can do to change that.

If you don't like it, that's fine.
The least you can do is treat me like everyone else.
I am still Human.
